Fundraising:

Annual Fundraising Event

This event is always a blast to attend – and to plan. Join this event committee to be a part of identifying sponsors, donors, and planning all of the fun details of the evening. Currently looking for Co-Chairs and committee members.

Community Events:

HOLIDAY ON THE COMMON, DECEMBER

An event for the entire town to enjoy, Holiday on the Common includes meeting Santa in the Cushing Center, live singing, crafts for kids, food and drinks, decorations for sale by the Norwell Gardening Club, and more. The event ends on the Town Common with the tree lighting ceremony.

Halloween on the Common

A very successful town-wide event started in 2020 with a pumpkin carving contest for multiple age groups, a selfie station and candy shoot all taking place in our transformed spooky Town Common.

NORWELL GARDENS HOLIDAY LUNCHEON

This annual event allows the NWC to treat Norwell Gardens residents to a fun and festive luncheon to celebrate the holidays. The committee helps coordinate the food and drinks, entertainment, and serving.

Council on Aging MOTHER’S DAY TEA

A light and fun afternoon with the ladies from the Council on Aging, this event requires help in planning, coordinating, and volunteering at the event. Start planning which hat you’ll wear!

Southwood Nursing Home

Launched in March 2020 to support the residents and staff of Southwood Nursing Home in Norwell, an army of volunteers created a weekly cart of treats, activities and notes of support to be distributed to nursing home residents to lift their spirits. Project continued weekly for the remainder of the 2020 year. NWC is looking to do something on a quarterly or so basis to continue to support our community’s elderly.

Other:

Social Committee

A robust array of fun social activities are organized and driven by the committee. From the monthly Women’s Night Out event, to regular coffees, book club meetings, Holiday/ Yankee Swap Party, Year End Annual meeting and more. Join the committee to help with the coordination and communications about these great activities.

health & wellness committee

Focused on Health & Wellness activities for our organization, get togethers may include: fitness classes, walks & hikes, healthy cooking classes & tips, self defense training, etc. This group is a great opportunity to collaborate on events with like-minded fitness & wellness members.

NORWELL WELCOME COMMITTEE

This new NWC group will work on creating a packet of information (and potentially gifts) to deliver to new Norwell residents to welcome them to town and to invite them to participate in the NWC.

Membership Committee

Be an advocate for NWC membership by reaching out to prospective individual and business members. Committee members attend events welcoming visitors and new members, maintains membership lists, publishes a welcome email acknowledging membership and brainstorms ideas to draw new members in conjunction with other committees. This is a GREAT way to meet our amazing membership!

Publicity Committee

Helps promote NWC events and projects. This committee also supports website updates, social media posts and email communications.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE (by invitation only)

Each year the NWC awards 3-5 seniors with scholarships for higher education. This committee manages the application process, reviews essays, and makes the determination for which recipients will receive the scholarships.
