Committed to our Community

The Women's Club of Norwell is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to community service. Our mission is philanthropic, educational and social.

About

The Women’s Club of Norwell is pleased to announce the funding of $40000 in grants and scholarships during the year ended June 30, 2009. The club is a not-for-profit philanthropic, educational and social organization open to all Norwell residents 18 years and older.

The first grant objective of the club’s bylaws is to provide financial support primarily to local, non-profit organizations. In addition to funding local organizations, the club made grants to organizations that were not Norwell based but which provide services to Norwell residents: South Shore Women’s Resource Center, Hospice of the South Shore, Friendship Home, YMCA – Strong Kids, South Shore Women’s Business Network, the Look Good, Feel Better Program at South Shore Vo-Tech, Pathways Center for Cancer Support.

The second grant objective of the club’s bylaws is to provide scheduled and as needed help to individuals and groups in the community struggling with illness, loss or other challenges, the club provided grants

The Women’s Club also funds scholarships for high school graduates for higher education. Awards were provided to the class of 2008, of which some were based on scholarship, leadership and community service and the remainder based on financial need.
