Greetings Norwell Ladies!
I want to welcome all of our new members, I am so thrilled with our increasing membership. You can find a list of our newest members below. Thank you all for joining, there is so much happening and on the horizon for this great club. Please read through this edition of the NWC Chatter Newsletter and see how you can get involved.
This year’s Ladies Night Out Annual Fundraising Event is Hot Moroccan Nights and will be on Thursday, March 23rd at 6:30 pm at the Cushing Center. Tickets go on sale this week and I suggest that you buy your tickets early because we do expect to sell out. We’ll have belly dancers, henna artists, a fortune teller, amazing food, amazing fun and yes, we will be selling the magical wands! More on this can be found from co-chairs, Lisa and Besa below.
Norwell Summer Fest “NSF” is on! This is a true labor of love and thanks to Kristen Jervey for co-chairing this event for the 2nd time. It is a huge amount of work and fundraising effort. There are specific things that Kristen needs so lease think about Sponsorship if you are a business. Single/Family donations are equally as important to this effort as well. Please also think about donating time as a volunteer. The NWC supports the efforts of NSF and we want to make this year’s event another huge success.
Mark your calendars for our upcoming NWC Club Meeting for Members! We feel it is very important to be transparent and we want you to know how your dues and donations are spent and what we have on tap for events, etc. At this meeting you’ll get to hear from each officer and committee chair and have a chance to ask questions. The meeting will be on April 11th at 7pmat The James Library. After the meeting we’ll have refreshments and mingling from 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
We are also always looking for new talents. Do you sew? Are you a Photographer? Do you know sound and lighting professionals? If you do have a talent you’d like to share, I would love to create a NWC Talent Directory. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On a different note, it was with great sadness that we learned about Jack Kenney’s passing earlier this month. While there is nothing that we can do to take away the pain the Kenneys are experiencing, our NWC Board voted at our January 20th meeting to donate to the Norwell High School Boosters in Jack’s name. We send continued prayers and love to the entire Kenney family.
I hope you will reach out to me directly at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Abby Gray, President
Susan Davis, Vice President
I’m so happy to be serving as VEEP for the NWC and as Publicity Chair for the Hot Moroccan Nights event. This group of fun and generous women keeps growing and it has just been such a nice way to meet people in town while helping to support our wonderful community. As the VP, I also get to serve as the Donations Committee Chair and work with the entire Donations Committee to help determine how the funds we raise are distributed. Everything stays right here in Norwell and it is an honor to help the many worthy organizations. When I’m not volunteering, I run a marketing consulting business SHD Marketing and have two little ones and one (amazing) husband!
Tracey Cook, Treasurer
I am excited to be serving as Treasurer of the Norwell Women’s Club. We are poised to make lots of money to donate back to our community this year. A more formal update will come next month.

Patti Nelson has been a resident of Norwell first for two years when first married and then again since moving back in 2001. She was introduced to the Women’s Club of Norwell by Margaret Dawson, former President and realtor, and immediately felt connected to the other women in the Club. She has remained actively involved in a variety of committees. She ran the Bunny Breakfast for many years before retiring her “bunny” ears to then organize the Chatter each month as the Secretary. She has been Chairing the Scholarship Committee for several years and thanks those of you who have helped her efforts.
Check out our monthly Women’s Night Out networking event. The chair for this event series, Diana Locksmith, coordinates this monthly event which is typically held on the 2ndWednesday of each month. She is confirming monthly hosts so let us know if you are interested in hosting. Simply bring $5 and a bottle of wine to alleviate any stress for the hostess. Some folks serve cheese and crackers, some order pizza, or some just have dessert. These evening events are for ALL women. If you want to get out and meet new people or, whatever the reason, we want you to feel welcome to come and chat and enjoy a few hours of socializing and relaxing with your neighbors.
