Happy New Year, Ladies!

There are so many things going on with your club, that I wanted to give you a brief overview to catch you all up on some of the news and what we are working on for this year.
Your new board (as of 2016-2017), and Committee Chairs, met on January 20, 2017, to discuss the coming year, our annual event, donations, Norwell Summer Fest Involvement, and other items. We had a 4.5 hour, productive and positive meeting. While we will update you all in greater detail in Chatter (our monthly newsletter), I wanted to give you all a few highlights. If you are reading this as a non-member, I hope that you will see the benefits of joining our group. I am always available and willing to talk with anyone about the club, so please reach out to me if you want to learn more about The NWC!  My personal email is:  gray.abby@gmail.com
Officers and Committee Chairs as of 1/20/2017:  Abby Gray, President; Susan Davis, VP & Donations Chairperson, Tracey Cooke, Treasurer, Susana Griffin, Community Outreach Chairperson, Lisa Kivel & Besa Selman – Annual Event Co-chairs,  Diana Smith, Norwell Womens Night Out Chair, Kristen Jervis, NSF Co-Chair, and Reiko Beach, Past President.  *Updates to Committee Chairs will be added and introduced by event or call to action.
*Our Annual Fundraiser, Ladies Night Out, is called “Hot Moraccan Nights” this year. March 23, 2017 @ The Cushing Center. Ticket sales will start soon. Tickets are $45 and include one drink.  We are also offering a membership discount at time of ticket purchase for $25. LNO Ticket and membership have to be purchased together. Lisa Kivel and Besa Selman are our fearless leaders this year!  They can always use more help. Please email Lisa @ llkivel@gmail.com and Besa Selman @ besaselamn@yahoo.com.
*The Norwell Women’s Club is partnering again, for 2017, with The Norwell Summer Fest “NSF” crew to bring the entire town an amazing day of Norwell Fun. Kristen Jervey, Co-Chair, was kind enough to give us a wonderful overview of what the entire event entails. In order to make this event a town success, there is much to be done. NSF needs to raise $42,000 more in donations ASAP. Money raised for this event goes directly to this event. It takes a village, literally, to pull this event off. NSF is looking for donations of any size and has many Sponsorship Opportunites. Please contact: Kristen @ kikliskristen@hotmail.com and/or the Fundraising Chairperson, Ann Marie Costello, @: amcostello@me.com
If you are reading this and are not yet a member, I hope you will consider joining this club. We are an inclusive group. Women of any age, any ethnicity, not a mom or a mom, single ladies, empty nestor, etc. We are Philanthropic, Educational, and Social. We need a big, diverse, and interesting group to meet all of the challenges and options that our community provides. We are interested in all of you – and you all bring skills, interests, ideas, professionalism, expertise, and fun, to the group! I am honored to lead a group that gives back to the community via scholarships to students, beautifying our neighborhood(s), working with the elderly, The James Library, The Food Pantry, Norwell Gardens, The Counsel on Aging, and more. We are open to ideas and suggestions for all donations. Your dues go directly to a cause, and are deeply appreciated by the whole community.
Our monthly newsletter, Chatter, provides a lot more information and introductions to our member(s) leading a committee or group. We will also be continuously updating our website with timely information so that you can better decide how to join, help, or investigate what we are doing. Check us out on Facebook, too. “Norwell Womens Club”.
Cheers to a wonderful, healthy and safe, 2017!  Looking forward to working with you in the months ahead.
