The Women’s Club of Norwell awarded five graduating high school seniors withscholarships for their higher education.  The recipients responded to the prompt: “Describe how you think your college education will prepare you to contribute to your community in the future.”   After reviewing all of the submissions, the following recipients were rewarded this year’s Women’s Club of Norwell scholarships: Caroline Flynn, attending Worcester Polytech Institute this Fall, Shea Garvey,  attending Cazenovia College in New York, Erin Kelly attending Loyola Maryland, Katherine King, attending Colby College, and  Anatasia Tsekeris.

Our committee, Nancy Bailey, Karen Reynolds, Jenn McVay and myself, were thrilled to award this year’s recipients,” said Patti Nelson, Scholarship Chair of the Norwell Women’s Club.  “It was a difficult decision and wonderful that through our fundraising efforts, we could award more recipients this year versus only three last year.  There were many strong, well-thought-out submissions making it a difficult decision for our Committee.  In the end, we thought these young women did an exceptional job.  We wish them the best in the future.”   The Norwell Women’s Club’s mission continues serve its community.  It is self-supporting through donations,  with all monies raised going directly back to the community.
